Hannah, 10/18/10

These were shot back in mid-October. Whew!

The first shot is my favorite. There’s something about it. I really enjoy looking at it. I like her expression, I like the light, I like how she’s off-kilter with a bunch of negative space above her head. I just like it.Hannah looking down with smileThe shoot was really chill, laid-back and free-flowing. We played with colors and outfits. Half reality and half colorful whimsy. I let her run with whatever props she suggested: toy guns, real knives, fake jewels…   …well, maybe I didn’t let her run with the knife…

…and then some personal work for me. She was such a great sport to oblige with this idea I’d had bouncing around in my head for awhile that was just for her.Hannah, Heavy BaggageHannah’s lived through some crazy life experiences and it’s resulted in some baggage. Oh the stories we have from what life has thrown our way…

Nevertheless, she’s making it through and has a sweet heart. She’s smart and is a talented writer. I’m looking forward to seeing what she becomes in the future.

Melinda Thanks Kessia! I got a new light modifier (an OctoDome) a few months ago and it really does make a difference in the quality of light! By the way, I’ve really been enjoying your http://blessedbythethousands.tumblr.com/ blog. Great stuff on there!01/18/2011 – 11:46 am
