Matt & Josie Minikus, Nov 2010

Minikus 9up previewI’m doing my best to post all the photos from past shoots that have been waiting in the wings for months. The entire Minikus shoot was a blessing. God totally blessed us with an amazing space to photograph in for a ridiculously low day rate. Like, lowww….like cheap fast food meal low. There’s no other way to explain how everything fell into place but by the love and goodness of God. Also, huge gratitude to Lance Alvarez. He’s the man with the keys to this awesome space; our amazing gateway. He was our in. Lance is a great guy. He took care of us and I highly recommend him for all your real estate needs in California’s Gold Country. Check out his profile here and send some business his way!

I hope to get a flash gallery up soon with more photos from the Minikus’s shoot. Until then, check out Matt & Josie’s music here.

Hannah, 10/18/10

These were shot back in mid-October. Whew!

The first shot is my favorite. There’s something about it. I really enjoy looking at it. I like her expression, I like the light, I like how she’s off-kilter with a bunch of negative space above her head. I just like it.Hannah looking down with smileThe shoot was really chill, laid-back and free-flowing. We played with colors and outfits. Half reality and half colorful whimsy. I let her run with whatever props she suggested: toy guns, real knives, fake jewels…   …well, maybe I didn’t let her run with the knife…

…and then some personal work for me. She was such a great sport to oblige with this idea I’d had bouncing around in my head for awhile that was just for her.Hannah, Heavy BaggageHannah’s lived through some crazy life experiences and it’s resulted in some baggage. Oh the stories we have from what life has thrown our way…

Nevertheless, she’s making it through and has a sweet heart. She’s smart and is a talented writer. I’m looking forward to seeing what she becomes in the future.

Todd’s Lashes.

So. Amazing.

I have seen some long lashes in my life. But none top the length of Todd’s. My cousin, Bich (pronounced “Bik”), and her husband, Todd, came over the day after Christmas this year (or, I guess it was last year since it’s now 2011…) for a nice visit. I was so amazed at Todd’s lashes that I had to get some pics as proof of my discovery! I wanted to put some mascara on those lashes but that somehow got derailed…Todd, eyelash closeup, b/wTodd, both eyes, b/w

I’ve not been a fan of persimmons in the past but these are starting to grow on me. Plus, these lil’ things are so cute with their green “bows” on top.

Caramel Apples, Just in time for the holidays

Caramel Apples

Behold. My Harry & David-esque photo for the holidays…

My friend Donna made these caramel apples complete with a hand-written, considerate yet humorous note that read, “Dental Warning: This caramel is great at ripping out fillings and crowns…Chew with caution”

I don’t recall ever having a candy or caramel apple before but these were kind of addicting and not sickly sweet like I had imagined. Really yummy. And, no, I didn’t eat both of them by myself. And, yes, I did chew with caution.
